You missed a small detail from the earlier postings... I'm suggesting
problems with IRIX 5.0 and 5.1.1.1 - not 4.0.5g (or whatever the first
Onyx RE^2 IRIX version was) or 5.2/5.3 - I'm quite prepared to believe
that it worked for every other version of IRIX.

Anyway - it's in the IRIX Systems Programming Guide - so it must be true
:)
