Performance problems for root

Hello!

We have a remarkable problem with a multiprocess-Performer
application running with root privileges (setuid or started
by root) on a 12 CPU, 3 pipes Onyx under Performer 1.2 and
IRIX 5.3:

When started in privileged mode, the obtained performance
is much lower than when being run by a non-privileged user
(intermittent frame delay, 10-30 msec).

Any suggestions?
