Thanks to all of you who sent pointers - pfDataPools are a very easy
way to implement IPC if you are willing to link in the Performer libs
in the 'external' or 'driver' process - which is fine for me in this
case at least. I already have a little process up and running driving
perfly.
I modified perfly to spawn this process using a 'system' call - not very
elegant, maybe, but with ajust a few lines of code I was up and running.
