No. Pre R14.2 loaders can only make geosets with
per vertex colors (gouraud shading) if the models do
_not_ have normals. To eliminate normals from your
models you can bring up the header attribute page in
ModelGen and click the "save normals" checkbox off.
Write the database and it should have gouraud shading
in perfly for instance. If you model is in a larger
database you may want to copy it out to a new database
first or reread in the orginal and reshade selected
portions of it.

R14.2 loaders obey the new polygon light mode flags
to determine shading/lighting. The are best set using
the expanded "Calculate Shading" command.

The current releases of the OpenFlight loaders for Performer
1.2 are revisions R14.1g and the recent R14.2. Either of these
loaders work with earlier versions of the format and are
much better than the R14 loader that came on the Performer
1.2 CD. The R14.2 loader can give different results than previous
loaders in that it is a port of the Performer 2.0 loader. Some
differences are good like better tmeshing and geostate sharing,
but others can be upsetting like more warnings about improper
model attributes and inheritance of pfCullFace() for 2-sided
polygons (perfly calls pfCullFace( PFCF_BACK) by default).
