Patrick:

Not quite clear on your design goals to de-bulk the Performer API, but suggest
you look at Vega by Paradigm Simulation (Dallas Texas, 1-214-960-2301,
marketing++at++paradigmsim.com). Its a higher-level toolkit with GUI and API on top
of Performer with options for special effects, marine efffects, DIS, large area
databases, and more. Has worked quite nicely for us.

Subject: working with Performer

   Hello.

We are developping a virtual reality project under SGI and
are directing our efforts towards Performer. Our first goal
would be to create a library that facilitates Performer's
   somehow `bulky' programming API.

o are there any library that are/have been developped for Performer
o if we should consider other products, in views of performance,
        ease of use, price, etc...
