At ITEC, Computer Arts and Developments demonstrated a
solid 60Hz fly over of the San Francisco Bay Area
using both 1m and 10m image data. On RealityEngine
texture paging is a bit tricky, because subtexload
only works for non-mipmapped textures. Hence, one
must use bilinear and handle texture LOD yourself.
CAD did this beautifully paging in textures every
frame and blending them very smoothly.

Using this approach, tile boundaries between images of
the same LOD can be made pretty seamless by ensuring
that your own texture LOD generation appropriately
includes samples from adjacent tiles. Tile boundaries
between images of differing LODs will still show seams,
but this will not be as noticeable and can be mitigated
using blending.

Javier Castellar (javier++at++asd.sgi.com) or Nacho Sanchez
(nacho++at++comarts.es) might be able to provide more details.
