I had some reports of this very same problem of PTU crashing deep
within the IL, perhaps 6 months ago, but they disappeared
mysteriously and I was never able to determine what had caused them.

My assumption is that it is caused by a versions problem. Questions
to ask would be, what version of the ImageVision library are you
running, are you sure that it is the correct and most up-to-date
version for 5.3, and are you certain that the installation went
smoothly?

At one point I was able to reproduce the problem, but then I reloaded
the OS on the machine (a disk crashed, as I recall) and never saw the
problem again.
