  Unfortunately, I am afraid you won't. You are already using all the zbuffer
res you can possibly get. What I meant before is that a
really small change in the near clip value could be very helpful,
if you need it to be .5 maybe going for .6 would be a very good
improvement.

  Unless you can think of a method to split the scene in two halves,
and paint in two passes, each with a different half of the near/clip
range and corresponding fog range, the only thing you ( and most of us ) can do
is test all the possible combinations of near/far, fog range and fog type,
and see what works best. We got best result from PIX_LIN and EXP2 fogs, but
depends on your needs.

  Don't tell anyone, but let's say that the fog implementation is probably
not the best part of the RE microcode.Wait for seeing the fog at work
on a 3pipe ... ;-)
