I believe that the Inventor loader flushes accumulated SoTransforms into
a DCS when in encounters an SoGroup (or subclass) with "dcs" or "DCS" in
it's name. Try:
DEF DCS Group {
...
}
I guess this is because in Performer, DCS's are actually groups.
You could also experiment with:
LoadIvMode( PFIV_FLATTEN, 0 ); // Don't flatten in case it's killing DCS
and:
LoadIvMode( PFIV_CONVERT_XFORMS, 1 ); // Don't check DEF name, always use DCS
