  We are (sadly) expecting a no as an answer, my guess is that this size
limitation is a byproduct of how texture is accessed and organized in RE
memory, and fixing would probably mean changing a lot of microcode.

  Just wanted to confirm.

  Anyway, 256x256 detail textures look like a really nice waste of texture
mem, one of the most precious resources on the planet.

  We'll have to live with that ....
