Chris Willing and others interested in "TEXT HANDLING." What is it in
your visual simulation that requires so much text handling? Heads-up
displays are about the only simulation augmentation that seems to
require significant text handling. Even at that, this type of text
handling seems to benefit from use of billboards.

Text handling on multi-axis billboards seems like a most useful
concept to me. This would allow a text indicator to read differently
depending on perspective, and if the "text handling" was what it
should be cut out to do for such things - would size fonts, use 2D or
3D fonts, etc. based on POV quantities such as line of sight distance,
viewing frustrum distended. But, if we ask to go to the stars, the
performer group might just get us to Mars (Although, robots would be
cheaper and eat so much less).

Thanks for listening,
