Under IRIX 6.0, you can run Performer 1.2 in a 32bit
application with 32bit IrisGL. If you want to do graphics in
a 64bit application, you need Performer 2.0 and 64bit OpenGL.
(Customers with requirements for 64bit Performer before 2.0's
release should contact Ralph Humphries, ralphh++at++sgi.com).

As for performance, the R8000 is much faster for floating
point, so a lot depends on how intensive your FP computations
are. The basic graphics performance will be about the same.
As for Performer traversal and scene graph operations, I don't
have any benchmarks but would expect moderate improvement,
perhaps 10-25%.
