Performer under 6.0

I am considering purchasing a PowerIndigo 2 Extreme, which I believe
runs IRIX 6.0. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with
Performer on this platform with this OS - I am looking for whether
a) it works at all
        and if not, when a version that does is xpected to be out
b) how its performance compares to say an Indigo 2 Extreme under 5.2
c) any other things I should watch out for as they relate to Performer
