path in scene

Hello,

I am running Perf1.2 on an Onyx w/RE and IRIX 5.2

I notice an unusual growth of the paths when I print
out my scene hierarchy using pfPrint. Each time a path
field is listed for a group, /usr/people/joe/dwbfiles is
appended to the beginning of the path. After a few
instances, this field starts getting huge and causes problems.
I use LoadFile to read in a dwb file and then clone the node
into multiple SCSs.
Exactly what does this path field refer to?
What sets this path and modifies it.
