I would like to have 2 windows on the screen each displaying the
same viewpoint of a scene. One can do this by either rendering
the view twice or by rendering once and copying the image over
to the other window. Obviously the second method has the
advantage that it halves the number of polygons that need to be
rendered. I've tried using 'rectcopy' and it works but is way
too slow (in 12 or 24 bit) and limits the performance to about
10fps. This seems to be because rectcopy has to read from the
screen and then copy it over to the second window, rather than
writing the same output from the rendering process to 2
windows. The question is are there any better ways to do this,
using Performer or GL ???
I'm using an Indigo2 Extreme R4000
The reason I want to do the above is that my application is in
stereo with CrystalEyes glasses. However for some purposes, I
wish to switch back to mono. Rather than resetting the
video-rate, and resizing the windows (which is ugly solution as
the user notices the whole process), I want to software switch
back to mono, render only one view and copy it to both eyes.
Thanks in advance
