} I have had similar problems on our ONYX (OS 5.2, 2 CPU's, 2 RM's), except
} it appears as a transparency problem (maybe AA too, it's hard to tell in NTSC).
} I ran at 4++at++640x486_30i. I have seen the same problem when I run at

FWIW, we have confirmed that clogin (visuallogin) compromises
flexibility of frame buffer configuration by Performer. Typical
effects we see when clogin is active (and there is consequently
no console session in progress) include lack of anti-aliasing.
We are using a 4-RM RE^2 with MCO, typically in 3++at++850x850_60 mode.
Simply disabling clogin with the command
chkconfig visuallogin off
executed as root makes the problem go away. I.e. Performer apps
with full framebuffer flexibility can be launched remotely while
no one is logged in at the Onyx console.
The only lost "functionality" is the lack of a palette of user icons
at login. Users must recall _and_ type their _whole_ login name rather
than readily recognizing their raster. In most cases, this has not
proved problematic.

Jean Daigle.
