Testing the perfly program on an ONYX and recompiling the program still
produces a heap allocation error when it loads a 30Meg database file. The
performer running on ONYX is version 1.2 and IRIX 5.2.

It is notable, the same program (perfly) works fine on an Indigo-2 with
Extreme graphics. I wonder if the problem is related to memory management on
ONYX and possible Reality Engine Graphics boards. !!
