The simplest way to record and playback is to store all the
information you use to setup each frame in the APP on a per-frame
basis, e.g. chan view, switch settings, etc. Then play it back for
frame-by-frame recording.

As for simulation of room acoustics, you can fake it a little with
reverb and frequency filtering, but to do it properly you need to take
into account both source and listener position, reflectors and their
characteristics. The full solution involves convolutions or some
approximation to them. This requires special hardware to accomplish in
real-time. Various folks have hardware+software products, e.g.
Crystal River Engineering (209) 962-6382 or Focal Point (206) 286-8922.
You might also look at some of the papers by Beth Wenzel et al. from
NASA Ames.
