I am developing a program that animates a movement through a volume
of random dots, looking much like a starfield, or something. Thus,
there is only a small amount of pixels to be filled. From the stats
display I can see that drawing the geometry does only take a couple
of milliseconds, probably 8. The limiting factor of the frame rate
(22fps) is thus the clearing of the screen for each frame (30ms, if I
remember right). I have two questions:
1) Would an Extreme graphic clear the screen faster than the XZ that
I am currently using?
2) Is there a way around clearing the entire screen.? I think, that
clearing only the pixels drawn in the last frame would be much
faster.

Thanks,

Markus
