Should I be able to display transparent objects (using material
alpha) and make use of one or more stencil planes at the same time
in a Performer 1.2 application (using multisample antialiasing)?
Currently, whenever I enable stencil planes with stensize()
followed by gconfig(), objects which are transparent are no
longer rendered. Textures with alpha components still seem to
render correctly, however. I have tried various combinations of
mssize(), pfTransparency(), etc, but so far have not gotten the
desired result.

If I turn off multisampling, I get the result I want -- but of
course polygons are no longer antialiased. Certain combinations
using mssize() restore the transparent objects, but when I look
carefully, it appears that the stencil planes are behaving
strangely. The man page for pfDecal indicates that the first
stencil plane should be reserved for decaling (when it is
used), but I am not using it...

Could someone offer some suggestions? Thanks.
Glen.
