I still doubt this one. Our system loads the entire Hunter Liggett database
into memory, complete with texture maps and lots o' entity files (though these
are then cloned for duplicate entities). This is a DIS application (as you
may have noticed) and ran in the I/ITSEC demo. I forget the size or the
number of polygons in this database, but if you think it is important, I might
be able to find out. Each entity (usually 10-50) has 300-2000 polygons.

I hope this helps. I would tend to think the problem is in special cases
of files rather than volume. Subfacing polygons and items of that sort
might be the cause of the problem. ??
