Compiler crash - perfly

A couple of us now have experienced system intermittent system
crashes when we are compiling modified perfly code. We are running
on an ONYX with 2 CPUs running IRIX 5.2 and Performer 1.2. We
do a make on perfly, and the system crashes and then comes up
in the state where we can restart the system (ie the display comes
up with the icons for different things: green light for restarting
the system, an icon for diagnostics, etc).

A recompile of the same source code then may work. Ie the crash
is itermittent.

Anyone experienced anything like this?
