Well, this is almost true. We have the Coryph. product mentioned (DWB)
and we are using it for cockpit displays. Really a nice tool, but it
should be for the money (~17K).
The tool to create models allows files to be saved under many formats,
including dwb and flt formats. They also provide a loader for dwb
files to be loaded into Performer. The feature mentioned above can't
be used under Performer, as the "runtime module" is used for it.
But, it is even easier than Performer. One just needs to make
a half dozen library calls and your done. Within the modeler you
set up these things called "links" which link properties of parts
of the display (i.e. the compass rose movement) with a shared memory
variable. All you do in the application program (if you are using
the libraries) is update the shared memory variable and the
display does its thing. Links can be used for translation, rotation,
color, scale, etc.
We are using it for the cockpit Primary Flight Display, the Navigational
Display, and an FMS keypad display. I do recomend it, a very nice tool
and the company is ok to work with. i.e. they have been able to answer
every question we have had.
Plug for DWB ends here. (-:).
