My config:
HW - Indigo2 Extreme
SW - Performer 1.2
Problem:
I'm creating a geometry node with one geoemtry set, which is a set with
independent triangles (a geoemetry state ++ is also attached).
This geometry is a set with coplanar triangles, representing an oil spill,
where z = 1.0. I'm using an Earth Sky model were the ground height is set to
0.0. Now, if the z value for the oil spill is set to 0.0, the zbuffer gets
messed up as expected. With z = 1.0, things get better, but the problem is
that when these triangles are drawn, they now flicker randomly on and off like
they are not double buffered or their Z value still is messed up (whole
triangles dissapears and the ground/water shines through the oil spill at
random spots).
If my view point is close to z = 1.0 things are not that bad (only a few
triangles, 10 out of 1000, flicker on and off), but moving up to z = [50 -
500] almost 50% percent turn on and off every frame.
I have tried a lot of things like setting the lsetdepth, near and far plane is
1 and 5000, etc. but notting seems to help.
I should add that models loaded with the FLT loader and added to the same
scene (a boat floating around in the oil spill) behaves fine, so there must be
something that I'm doing wrong here.
Any help are highly appreciated!
