There aren't any general incompatibilities with Crimsons. Being a
Crimson RE, I assume you're running IRIX 4.0.5G or H. Do you get
any error or warning messages? (in the shell, console window, or
/usr/adm/SYSLOG)

There are a few bugs that could cause core dumps in 1.0, (pfFlatten
on a zero-length pfGeoSet, intersections with pfSwitches that were
"off", and intersections with non-indexed quads). The FAQ list
hasn't been updated for a while, but it does contain a list of all
the bugs I knew of when it was put together.

Also, the libgl on each of the Indigo-series machines is wildly
different than the libgl for RE, so you should verify that you are
compiling with the shared libraries. (both performer and libgl).
Or, try compiling on the Crimson.

I couldn't quite infer from your message whether the crash was the
application or the entire graphics pipe -- if the latter, a test
case to the hotline would be the fastest way to get bugs filed &
track it down.

If the application is crashing, a stack trace from dbx would be the
way to go.
