I agree about the quantity, but given the rules and attitude
towards newsgroup creation in the comp.blah hierarchy, I
don't think I'd want to try it with less than 500 people.
We have talked about creating a separate lower-volume
mailing list for announcements...when we have the time!

In the meantime, for those who want the information, I'd
suggest getting your mailer to automatically sort your
incoming mail into different folders so you don't get
overwhelmed with biff beeps. MH can do it, and I'm sure
most other mail packages can as well. Another alternative,
if you have a good newsadmin, is to gateway the mailing list
into a local newsgroup.

BTW, THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH PERFORMER MAIL COMING THROUGH.
I PRESUME THAT ALL THIS INFO IS ARCHIVED SOMEWHERE ANYWAY.

I'VE COLLECTED SOME 17-THOUSAND LINES OF MAIL FROM THIS GROUP.
TOO MUCH ALREADY!!! I'D SUGGEST YOU GET YOURSELVES A NEWS GROUP!
