In 1.2's /usr/include/Performer/pr.h there is defined:

#define PF_MAJOR_VERSION 1
#define PF_MINOR_VERSION 2

That will at least distinguish 1.2 from 1.0/1.1, and I expect it to
stick around for later releases too. Offhand I can't think of an
easy way to distinguish 1.0 from 1.1..
