:Hi. I'm actually just learning about the capabilities of performer. And I'm

:Does Performer has any DIS capabilities in it, or is there is any plan to add
: the DIS standard to it? I had heard a rumor of this.

IRIS Performer has no specific DIS protocol or application-level support
routines. It is, however, just the thing for developing such applications.

:If not, is there any commercial or public-domain DIS standard code available

Several companies have produced PDU processing software that does vehicle
position extrapolation, player ingress/egress, and other DIS-specific tasks.
At the 1993 I/ITSEC show in Orlando, over 30 companies were using both IRIS
Performer and the MaK stealth software for easy DIS integration.

I'd suggest that you contact John Morrison at MaK (jm++at++mak.com). They are an
IRIS Performer beta site and have been very active in DIS developments:

:Is there a DIS mailing list?

I don't know of a specific one. You might consider that given the huge ratio
of IRIS Performer users in the DIS networking component of I/ITSEC '93 (more
than 80% by my count) that this mailing list is the de facto one.
