I need to know if there is a way to draw static background with
GL and let Performer handle moving models without requiring me to redraw
the background every frame.

I have a dataset composed of evenly spaced elevation posts. I
display this elevation data as either wire frame, or shaded polgons
during the draw callback. I load flight format models into Performer,
and let it manage those. Currently, I am redisplaying my terrain with
each frame. The dataset is 500x500 posts, and this display is taking
most of my time.

I was hoping to find some way of drawing this terrain only once (since
it does not move reletive to the eyepoint), but have just the models redrawn
every frame.

I originally wanted to load the terrain matrix into either a geoset,
or geode but I had very little luck doing so. I am working on an Indigo2
Extreme running Performer 1.0. I am writing my code in Ada (serious pain),
but I would actually prefer replies using 'C'.

                                                Thanks
