I also have noticed the frame rate stuttering reported by Mike WIlliams
when running on a single processor Indigo2 Extreme, a Personal IRIS
4D/35GT+, and possibly on an Indigo Elan (can't remember for sure about
this last one). What caused me to notice the stutter at first was that
pfDrawChanStats went bananas and performed so badly that it was nearly
impossible to read the graph because each frame time it reported
bounced back and forth between fast and slow times.

In the release notes of Performer 1.2 Beta it states that 1.0 has a bug
in some of the pf routines that use the real time clock on machines
that don't have a high resolution hardware clock. This bug was fixed
in 1.2, so since I have a copy of 1.2 Beta I extracted the appropriate
object module from my 1.2 library .a file and replaced the bad object
module in the 1.0 library. That fixed the pfDrawChanStats display.
However, I think I am still getting some uneveness in actual frame rate
as reported by Mike Williams, tho I don't think mine is as extreme as
the variation he reports. I have not benchmarked this behavior to
prove it, either.
