In my Performer application I set the schedule priority of the process as follows:

   schedctl(NDPRI, 0, NDPNORMMAX); // Increase schedule priority
prctl(PR_RESIDENT); // Make the process immune to process swapout
setuid(getuid()); // Set uid back to real-uid in case it has been changed

Will this in any way effect Performer performance (is it allready done inside Performer) ?
Is it safe to do it?

I'm running on a Indigo 2 Extreme using C++, Motif, GLX and Perf. 1.2.
