Using all the CPU's

I have an application that has two pfPipes (one each on a sep. RE2 GE),
one pfPipe with 4 pfChannels, and the other with 3 pfChannels.

So basically, I have seven pfChannels. I am running on a four CPU system,
and my CPU usage never goes anywhere above 70%. In fact, it usually hovers
around 40% - 60%. Apparently the cull and draw processes are maxing out
the CPU's (my database tries to balance the cull and draw processes) and
there is no application stuff (to speak of) going on at this time.

My question is this: What if I had 8 CPU's or 16? Would I still only be
using 2.25 CPU's in this situation?

I would like to be able to "parallelize" (not paralyze :-) my culling
procedures if I have the idle CPU time sitting around (like I have a
CPU that is totally idle at the moment.)

I realize that later, my application and intersection routines will be
more significant than they are now (I am in the testing/benchmarking
phase.) But I can't help but wonder if there is something that I am
missing that would allow me to load up the CPU's a bit more.

Later,
 Aaron
