  Subject: the new pfMQueryHit()

  Does the pfMQueryHit() in v1.2 (Beta) return world coordinates
  for the PFQHIT_POINT vector? If not, where is the transformation?
  Also, is the PFQHIT_NORM vector normalized?

As with the now defunct pfIsect structure, the point is in local
coordinates. You *would* be able to get the transformation both in
discriminator callbacks and upon return of pfSegsIsectNode, except
for a bug in the beta (alpha 53), which has since been fixed. The
normal is normalized.

  So far, these new intersection routines seem a lot easier to
  implement

Good.

  but the man pages are horrible.

What would you like to see more detail on?

  pfSegsIsectNode() doesn't even exist in our copy! :)

Then something went wrong with your inst. I just double checked both
the Irix4 (/usr/catman/p_man/cat3/Performer_pf/pfSegsIsectNode.z) and
Irix5 (/usr/share/catman/p_man/cat3/Performer_pf/pfSegsIsectNode.z)
distributions.
