Hello Performers,
To further combat the ongoing SPAM problem, I've just reconfigured the
info-performer mailing list to allow postings from subscribers only.
This should dramatically reduce the spam that gets through.
BUT THERE'S A CATCH. As I'd mentioned before, about 25%-30% of you are
posting your messages from an account other than the _exact_ one that's
subscribed. Now they must be identical or they'll bounce.
In a few minutes you'll all receive a message containing your current
subscription info. Please take a moment to check if this matches the
account you currently send mail from. If not, please unsubscribe that
address and resubscribe under your current address.
One exception: If you have multiple accounts (e.g. home & work) where
you might send messages _from_, you can sign up your alternate accounts
on a special list and messages will be allowed from that account too.
(The alternate won't be sent anything, it is just a pass-list). Send
mail to: info-performer-request++at++sgi.com with message body:
subscribe info-performer-alternates your-other-account++at++other.site.com
Hopefully all this might allow me to loosen up some of the other filters
(e.g. to allow legit HTML postings). We'll see..
If you experience any problems, please send mail to:
owner-info-performer++at++sgi.com
Thanks!
Allan
