Greetings. I would like to know if there is some easy way to "mark" a spot in a 3D scene with Performer, but by mark I really mean track it's screen raster position as it changes with the channel view.

Basically what I have is a Performer channel that I have looking at a certain (x,y,z) position in my scene, which I call my "aim point". I would then like to be able to slew the channel view off the spot I am currently looking at, but mark the original spot ON SCREEN, with a 2D OpenGL drawn overlay marker so that as I slew farther out I can use the visual indicator to slew my channel back to the original spot marked. As I slew off of the original spot, the rastor position for that spot is changing because I am not looking directly at it anymore (it isn't the channel's "center of attention" anymore). It seems that if I could keep track of this raster position I would be able to draw my visual overlay on that spot to mark it. Is this possible to capture with Performer? Is there a feasable alternative to the approach I am taking? Thank you.
