Hi Christopher,

I guess your best bet if you want both is to take the already rendered
image, subload it into a texture and render it fullscreen on a quad or
grid to the other channel, mapping the colors to grey with a fragment
shader. If you only want the black and white image, you might be able to
render it to a framebuffer object instead of a framebuffer to save the
texture subloading if your driver supports it.
