Hi folks,
I'm sure you've noticed an influx of spam making it through our filters
over the past week or two. We successfully trap 75-100K spam per year
to info-performer, but now 2 or 3 per day seem to have found a hole..
I suppose some might appreciate info-performer becoming your one-stop
shop for performer discussion, hot stock tips, discount medication, and
lonely wives in your neighborhood .. but I'd rather we try to filter out
those last three as much as possible..
Turning on subscriber-only posting might be an easy solution. But I
have been testing this on the side and about 25%-30% of you are posting
messages from an account other than the one you're subscribed. We'd
want to get everyone to verify their account (no small feat) &
resubscribe if needed.
So: I'm going to let things continue at the status-quo and see if the
spam filters train themselves into plugging the current holes. If not,
then we'll try subscriber-only posting.
Feel free to send me your comments or suggestions too...
Allan
