With a Quadro FX 4500, the PC freezes several seconds after starting the application and need to be rebooted (hard shutdown by keeping power button pushed for 4 s). These problems seem to appear only when heavily loading video memory (lots of textures & polygons), possibly overloading it.

Just curious, are you using Dell 670's with PCI-Express cards? We've
seen similar behavior with GeForce 6600GT cards (not only using
Performer), and we've been in contact with nVidia about it. If it is
the same problem, we've been assured by nVidia that it will be fixed in
the next driver release.
