I'm pleased to announce an updated version of the B3D Performer loader and
plugin for Maya 6 and 7. B3D (not to be confused with the Blitz3D file format)
is an ascii model format similar to VRML97, and designed initially for file
transfer between Maya and Performer. Features include hierarchical transforms
for use with maya's animation export, multitexturing, and a variety of options
specifically geared towards Performer. We use it at the Art Institute of
Chicago to create a smoother workflow for our students between Maya and
CAVE/Performer applications, and I hope others may find it handy too. Many
thanks to all on the info-performer list for all your help.

The Performer loader is available as source and as precompiled DSO for Linux
Performer 3.2.

The Maya exporter plugin is available as source and as binary for Linux, Maya
6.0 and 7.0.

new in this release:

* fixed compile errors in the Maya Exporter
* option to enable/disable the geoBuilder
* alphaTest / alphaThreshold settings for precise control of transparencies

new features in the pf loader that aren't yet in the Maya exporter:
* multitexturing
* cubemaps
* support for GPU programs (.vp and .fp)
