Hi Simon,
I run performer on debian without any probs.
I used the package 'alien' to create debs from
the sgi distributed rpms. I did have to create
the /usr/tmp myself (did "ln -s /mp /usr/tmp"),
but as far as I know that was the only modification
I had to made. Maybe your lack of menu is due to
an opengl driver issue? (I use nvidia drivers).
