For fog punch through, you need to use PFLPS_FOG_SCALE values that are
between 0 and 1. If fog scale is set to value c, then
this means that the point is fogged as if it is (c * distance) away from
viewer. This means that smaller values give a clearer view
of the light point.
You should also make sure to set
pfLPStateMode(lp, PFLPS_FOG_MODE, PFLPS_FOG_MODE_ON );
or
pfLPStateMode(lp, PFLPS_FOG_MODE, PFLPS_FOG_MODE_ALPHA );
In the second case, there should be a per vertex PFGS_COLOR4 binding in the
geoset with each point having
a unique color.
