Hi,
We are using the detail texture feature in Performer and are having
substantial amount of sampling artefacts. We are also
using LOD bias to force application of detail texture to a larger area
(because our base texture is quite blurry). The base
texture resolution is 1024x1024 and detail texture resolution is 256x256.
Are these artefacts always a problem (due to the fact that detail texture
involves linear sampling) or is it something that we are doing?
Are there any guidelines to reduce (preferably eliminate) such artefacts?
Also, what is a good shape for the detail texture
spline?
