No the 64-bit version is for Itanium systems (like SGI Prism).
For an Opteron you'd have to use the 32-bit Linux version.

We've tried it on a 32-bit SuSE system with a 2.6 kernel, I'd have to
doublecheck but I'm not remembering MP problems with the latest revs...
  (reminders welcome)

And the 2.6 kernel will be in an OS update for Prism fairly soon and it
runs there also.
