Hello pfPeople,
I'm acquiring a cluster of 30 rendernodes that have to run
OpenGL|Performer.
I am having troubles finding a 19" rackbased machine
that has PCI-Express graphics ("PEG") and can run
OpenGL|Performer.
Initially I discarded the Opterons because of the lack
of 64bit AMD support by Performer, but may have to
reconsider them and use them with legacy 32bit mode?
Does anyone know of a vendor that caries a suitable model?
Key issues for us are:
- REAL gigabit performance, thus: large MTU support
(like Intel chips have, lots of broadcoms only do
1500 mtu's).
- PCI-Express graphics
- Fast readback rate for glReadPixels
- OpenGL|Perfomer support
- Pbuffer support (which currently rules out ATI gfx).
- 19" housing. preferably low height.
Pointers are greatly appreciated!
Regards,
pfBram.
