We've done that for Win32 and 64-bit Linux but not 32-bit Linux (at
least so far). There wasn't a precompiled, free, easy-to-install copy
of inventor out on the net for Win32 or IA64 so we figured we'd just
precompile it ourselves and statically link it into those versions of
our libpfiv.so.
Doing this for 32-bit Linux too sounds like a reasonable RFE. :-)
