 Hi Phil

The stock answer is no not really( answered many times in the lists
archives), as you have found there are plenty of loaders which is really
what most if not all Performer and like API's require, their purpose is to
load display not convert. Typically the only writers you find is the API's
fast loading binary format dump e.g. PFB etc

So your left on your own if you want write the scene graph out to another
format. You would need to write your own exporter

Typically you create your PFB's from your original source models *.flt's
*3ds etc, if the PFB models you have , have been supplied by a third party
then you need to contact them to see if they can provide the models in
another format. Some folks use PFB as poor mans way of copyright protection
while still being able to distribute demos and data with copyrighted
materials etc

Best Regards

Gordon

Subject: [info-performer] export/convert from Performer to CAD/3D model

Hi all,

I wondered if there was a way of exporting / converting from pfb (or
pfa) to a more useful format that could be read by Okino PolyTrans/NuGraf
for example.

I know that there are a lot of loaders which are very helpful, but
unfortunately I need to export models from my VR app to CAD as well as
importing them into VR.

Ideas?

As far as I can see, pfconv only supports dwb, medit, pfa and pfb.

Thanks in anticipation,

Phil Day
