Are you using a multiprocessor SGI and Performer 3.2? I just had the same
problem on our Onyx4 machine (the problem does not occur with Performer
3.1.1 on our Onyx2 machine). The solution is to set the following
environment variable before doing the import:

setenv IL_READ_THREADS 0
