Well, I tried fooling around with rgb's and I was able to turn some images
from jpeg's into rgb's but the real problem is in loading my geometries.
>From what I understand the 3ds loader that is present inside performer only
loads rgb's when it's looking for materials. I really don't want to
re-invent the wheel (only slightly modify) but I want to modify the 3ds
loader the check for images other than rgb and use some other library to
load the image and store the data as part of the user data in the pfTexture.
The problem is, I'm pretty sure most of the functions (from what I've seen
in the code for the loader) are hidden and I'm not sure if I'll have to take
what is already there and start from scratch. Can anyone shed some light on
this subject, I'm trying to save some time and not have to re-map models
with rgb's that have already been mapped with another image type.
Jonathan
p.s. I'm working on the Windows platform
