Dear Jonathan,

For editing and converting textures I use Photoshop with a freely available
plugin from Multigen-Paradigm (we use their Creator tool) that can read &
write SGI format images of the type INT, INTA, RGB, RGBA. This way you can
preserve any alpha channel.

On SGI, you can also convert using the 'imgcopy' command. Otherwise there are
plenty of image conversion tools e.g. Deep Exploration that we also use that
does 3D model formats too.

Regards, Simon

Hello, I'm trying to load 3ds models into my scene graph but the textures
aren't loading properly. The models that I am loading have their texture
specified as JPEG's but I understand that Performer uses the RGB format. The
application that I am writing is being built on top of Perfly and I wanted
to know if there is a way for me to take the textures and convert them from
JPEG to RGB. Would I have to write a different 3ds loader that did the
conversion for me??

Jonathan
