Dear Performer Gurus,
I'm involved in an academic project investigating the use of immersive
VR as an engineering design platform (i.e CAD) and am considering
migrating from sense8's WorldToolKit r9 to Performer.
However, one of the major challenges we currently face is import/export
from/to our industrial partners (of which SGI are 1 of 9) who use a
variety of CAD packages including Pro/E and SolidDesigner. One of the
possible solutions suggested by our partners is to use a common format
such as JT or STEP. Could you possibly tell me what CAD loaders are in
Performer, and particularly, which version of each CAD package they
were developed for and have been tested on (e.g. version of Pro/E
loader was developed for, and any subsequent versions that it has been
extended for).
